Russian citizens can leave Iran via Armenia by land, the Russian embassy in Armenia informs.

“We inform about additional options for Russian citizens to leave Iran for Armenia by land—through the Norduz/Agarak border checkpoint on the Iran-Armenia border,” the aforesaid Russian diplomatic mission said in a statement on Telegram.

The embassy added that the border between Iran and Armenia is open for Russian nationals, passage is free with valid foreign or internal passports, and no prior notification is required.

Also, the diplomatic mission provided detailed information on getting from Armenia’s southernmost city of Meghri to the capital Yerevan, and then to Russia.

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, and this was followed by retaliatory measures by Iran. Military actions between the two countries are continuing to this day.
