Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said he had written a letter to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, proposing a meeting and calling for collaboration following the announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Grossi noted on X that the resumption of collaboration with the IAEA could lead to a diplomatic solution to the long-standing dispute over Iran's nuclear program.

Iran denies that it is seeking to create nuclear weapons. A similar assessment has been made by US intelligence agencies, too.

Earlier, the respective committee of the Iranian parliament approved a plan that would suspend collaboration with the IAEA.

Iran had previously stated that the US and Israeli strikes on the country did not occur in a vacuum, but were a direct result of illegal actions by Washington and its European allies, as well as biased conduct by the IAEA.
