Tehran is preparing to lodge a complaint at the UN against the United States for causing damages to Iran’s facilities, an Iranian deputy foreign minister said, Mehr reports.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen TV, Saeed Khatibzadeh said Washington must compensate Iran for damages incurred on its nuclear facilities.

While Israel started its strikes on Iran on June 13 and struck Iran’s military, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, the US stepped in and struck three nuclear sites in Iran’s Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.

A ceasefire that came into force on Tuesday has brought the fighting to a halt, Khatibzadeh said, adding that it was the US that sent messages about the cessation of war.

Khatibzadeh emphasized that Iran has not made any written agreement whatsoever with Israel that may contain certain clauses.

“What happened was the cessation of aggression by the Zionists [i.e. Israel]. In parallel with that, Iran won’t launch strikes despite being prepared,” explained the Iranian deputy foreign minister.
