An unidentified object exploded near a private education institution in Nazran city, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia, Russia, reports.

Initially, information was received that the explosion had occurred near the entrance to the police college, Kommersant reports.

The incident occurred at approximately 3amlocal time, as a result of which the facade of the building was slightly damaged, but no one was injured, according to the aforesaid ministry.

The operative officers who arrived at the scene seized “materials and objects of operational and investigative importance.”

It is unknown who detonated the device.

The matter of opening a criminal case is being decided.

Media information that “this institution is connected with the educational system of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs does not correspond to reality,” the department added.
