Ukrainian and US Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump had a phone conversation on Friday, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Their conversation took place amid the suspension of some key types of American military assistance to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, informed that negotiations between the two presidents had already taken place.

“It was a very important and meaningful conversation between the presidents. All the details will be known very soon,” he noted.

In turn, Axios, citing an anonymous source, reported that the telephone conversation between Trump and Zelenskyy lasted about 40 minutes.

The source noted that the conversation was good.

The call was held amid the suspension of American defense assistance to Ukraine, RBC-Ukraine adds.
