Narendra Modi has surpassed the 4,078-day mark of India's prime minister, surpassing the record of Indira Gandhi (1917-1984), who was the country's premier for 4,077 consecutive days, from January 24, 1966 to March 24, 1977, NDTV reports.
With this achievement, Modi has become the second longest-serving prime minister in the history of independent India, behind only the country's first premier, Jawaharlal Nehru.
