The Danish Flügger Group, which produces paint and varnish products, is under investigation after sales of its products in Russia were revealed. This is reported by the Danish publication Politiken. 

In late June, the National Special Crimes Unit (NSK) conducted a stop and search operation in Copenhagen in connection with a case involving the Danish company's possible circumvention of sanctions against Russia.

NSK says the searches were conducted at three addresses and two people were detained and released after questioning.

The company issued a press release confirming the investigation and saying it had been defrauded by distributors in Kazakhstan, Estonia, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

Flügger said the company terminated its cooperation with distributors in Kazakhstan, Estonia, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan this winter. This was the result of an investigation into suspicions that one or more distributors were promoting and reselling Flügger products in the Russian market in violation of cooperation agreements. 

The company suspects that the resale to Russia was carried out through one or more distributors and has therefore ceased cooperation with distributors in Kazakhstan, Estonia, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
