In Russia, the view on foreign policy is formed by President Vladimir Putin. So, his position is the most important. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson of the Russian leader, during a press briefing—and commenting on the dispute of former Russian president and current deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, on social media.

Peskov noted that in each country, members of the leadership have different views and different moods on the events taking place in the world. He emphasized that there are also quite tough-minded people in the US and Europe. As for Russia, Peskov called for paying attention to Putin's words and position.

"But the main thing, of course, is President Putin's position. In our country, foreign policy is formed by the head of state; that is, Putin," the Kremlin spox said.

In late July, US President Donald Trump and deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev got into a public spat on social media. The American leader advised the Russian politician to follow his words, and insinuated that Medvedev was entering dangerous territory. In response, Medvedev called on Trump to reconsider watching The Walking Dead movies and reminded him of the Dead Hand project.
