If bilateral trade begins between the citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan, it will become one of the most reliable guarantees of security. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a remote press conference, touching upon the “Trump Route.”

“In terms of security, we are implementing this project so that even more citizens of Armenia can use the transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan without any concern, and vice versa. We talk a lot about security, stability, peace, and guarantees. If tens of thousands of citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan use each other’s transport infrastructure and engage in bilateral trade, that will be one of the most reliable guarantees of security,” Pashinyan said.

As for what will happen to the road if a state of emergency is declared, Pashinyan answered humorously: “What will happen if a forest fire starts, or what will happen if it rains?”
