The strike of flight attendants at Canada's largest airline, Air Canada, which began on August 16, has already affected roughly 500,000 passengers, reports The Globe and Mail daily.

The respective flight cancellations had begun on August 14, when it became known that the union that represents striking flight attendants and the Air Canada management could not reach an agreement.

The aforesaid union is demanding a salary increase, as well as payment for the hours when the flight attendants are not in the air and waiting for flights.
