The foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) agreed on a final statement following their meeting in Jeddah. The document was published on the organization's website.

TASS reported the key provisions:

  • The Palestinian National Authority, based in Ramallah, should gain control over all Palestinian territories and be responsible for their security.
  • OIC countries called for an end to arms and ammunition supplies to Israel in order to prevent violence against Palestinians.
  • The Israeli authorities must immediately cease military operations in the Gaza Strip and lift the blockade of the enclave without preconditions.
  • The meeting participants condemned Israel's rejection of peace initiatives and its unwillingness to cooperate with mediators to achieve a truce.
  • The OIC states intend to seek the suspension of Israel's membership in the UN.
  • The ministers called for Israel to be held accountable in the UN International Court of Justice for war crimes and genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
  • The UN Security Council should hold an emergency meeting within the General Assembly in September in connection with Israel's actions in Gaza.
  • OIC member states recommended reviewing the level of diplomatic and economic relations with Israel.

In addition, the ministers expressed support for the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the US to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. It involves the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israel. It is noted that the latest proposal, accepted by the Palestinian side and left unanswered by Israel, “could lead to an important deal.”
