The Kremlin did not elaborate on whether a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is planned on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit to be held in China, Interfax reports.

“We are currently developing a schedule of bilateral meetings, it should be included in the events to be organized by our Chinese friends, and then we will inform you,” said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, when asked whether Putin plans to meet with Aliyev.

“Putin is currently actively preparing for the Eastern Economic Forum to be held in [Russia’s] Vladivostok [city],” Peskov added.
