YEREVAN.- The meeting of Armenian and Russian Presidents has kicked off in Sochi.

Prior to the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev stressed that holding contacts in the beginning of the year has become a good tradition, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from Sochi.

The sides intend to sum up last year’s results and discuss plans for the coming year. They will touch upon bilateral relations and regional problems.

In his turn, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan gave appraisal of development of bilateral relations expressing gratitude to President Medvedev for his efforts into resolution of the Karabakh conflict.  

The talks in bilateral format will be followed by Sargsyan-Medvedev-Aliyev meeting within the framework of negotiations on Karabakh.
