The European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, was in Armenia at the beginning of the summer. The EU is truly happy that the relations with Armenia are so close. They are now working on implementing a new and very ambitious partnership agenda which will be submitted, finalized, and adopted by both parties very soon, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They are working on security, implementing a resilience and growth program, and are doing a lot of work on visa liberalization. These are all commitments on which they now need to achieve a result together. The EU’s relations with Armenia can be further strengthened and deepened for the benefit of Armenian citizens, Maragos added.

The desire of the Armenian people to get closer to the EU is very well understood, but there is still much to do—and based on what there already is, said the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.
