A Swiss International Air Lines passenger plane flying from Boston to Zurich stopped during takeoff after making a loud noise and smoke billowing from its engine, according to video footage, NBC News reports.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that Flight 55 was taking off from Boston Logan International Airport but stopped due to “engine problems” at around 6:25 p.m. local time on Tuesday.

Video posted on social media and confirmed by NBC News shows the Airbus A330-300 beginning to accelerate before its engine began to burn noticeably, briefly causing flames and an explosion sound. The video shows a cloud of smoke appearing behind the aircraft. The plane then slowed down and came to a stop as emergency responders rushed onto the runway. The plane was not in the air and all of its landing gear was on the ground when the incident occurred.

“We were about halfway down the runway when suddenly there was a kind of rumbling and a strong jolt, and the plane lurched forward,” passenger Molly Ferrer told NBC Boston. “I felt the plane brake, and then it started to skid down the runway until it came to a complete stop.”

There were no reports of injuries. The plane eventually veered off the runway.
