The international scientific conference Astronomical Heritage of the Middle East 2 (AHME-2) kicked off Monday at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, in Yerevan.
The event brings together leading experts from Australia, Austria, Egypt, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Iran, Armenia, Jordan, China, Romania, Russia, Georgia, and Tajikistan.
Participants will present and discuss a wide range of topics, including the astronomical heritage of the Middle East, ancient and medieval astronomy, the astronomical legacy of the Silk Road, global space heritage, as well as astronomy education and public awareness.
The conference will run until Friday.
