“The process has absolutely not stopped. Over the past three years, we have imported a huge number of buses and trolleybuses, and more than that, today, right now, at the Yerevan City Council session, the issue of allocating budget funding for an additional 45 trolleybuses is being discussed,” Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said during a briefing with journalists after the government meeting on October 23. He added that this funding was provided by the government personally on the instruction of the Prime Minister.

“Recent studies have shown that, in terms of state budget funding, Yerevan is actually the most underfunded city. Yerevan has tripled its own revenues over the past three years, while the regular planned funding from the government has decreased. I believe that decisions like these help maintain some balance until institutional final solutions are implemented,” he said.
