YEREVAN. – If the disagreements being detected between the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) deepen, this could enable for the upcoming parliamentary elections to be held freely and transparently, the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Central Office Coordinator Levon Zurabyan said during a press conference on Monday.
In his words, “RPA wishes to falsify the elections as quietly as possible. [And] If a coalition partner does not want to be subjected [to this], this creates the greatest preconditions for RPA’s fraud to be reduced. We are prepared to collaborate with all forces, even with PAP, to form a front against election fraud,” Zurabyan stressed.
He also highlighted that election fraud causes a great damage to the Armenian statehood. “Those forces, which we used to fight against, have started to comprehend the necessity to hold fair elections,” ANC representative concluded.
