YEREVAN. – A “new” reserve is discovered in Armenia, Yerkir daily writes.

“A long time ago General Manvel Grigoryan had acquired, for a very cheap price, the area belonging to Aknalich village of Armavir Region. He turned it into his private property, and decided to call it a ‘reserve.’ Years ago he even placed a ‘sign’ there so that [people] would understand that it is a special protection area. The village residents told the newspaper’s correspondent that they pay 500-700 Armenian drams [approx. US$ 1.31-1.83], per month, for the seasonal grazing of their animals in that area, which is called Garik Lake,” Yerkir writes.
