ANKARA. – Turkey’s FM Ahmet Davutoglu commented on the French Constitutional Council’s acceptance of the appeal by those French senators who oppose the bill that criminalizes the denial of genocides, including the Armenian Genocide.
In an interview with Turkey’s Anadolu News Agency, Davutoglu thanked those French senators, and claimed that they came out against those who condemn the freedom of thought.
“In this context, we trust the Constitutional Council of France. It is always important for this right to be superior to politics. I also thank the Turkish society, who composedly behaved with respect to the adopted decision. If history is not condemned, a new impetus will be brought to the Turkish-French relations,” Davutoglu stated.
