Hearings titled “On the political prisoners in the Republic of Armenia and the restoration of their violated rights” started Wednesday in the National Assembly (NA). They were initiated by the NA opposition “Armenia” Faction.

However, no member of the government or the executive branch is participating in these hearings.

Also, photos of political prisoners have been placed on the government members’ desks in the NA Sessions Hall. In particular, a photo of imprisoned Archbishop Mikael Ajapahian, the Primate of the Diocese of Shirak of the Armenian Apostolic Church, is on the desk of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
