By the order of the French president, veteran of the French resistance, member of Manushyan’s group Arsene Tchakerian was awarded with the title of officer of the Honorary Legion.

Arsene Tchakerian is the only surviving member of the famous international group which had been led by Misak Manushyan. The group participated in the French resistance against the Nazi Invaders, Le Figaro writes.

22 members of the group were arrested and executed by the Nazis in February 1944, only Tchakerian survived.

In 2005, Tchakerian was awarded with the Cavalier Title of the Honorary Legion.
