YEREVAN. - Armenia will also celebrate the bicentennial of Charles Dickens, the great 19th-century writer, humanist, and a classic of global literature. 

But already back in December 2011, and together with Dasaran.am, an essay contest was declared with the topic: “What would Charles Dickens have written today?” The contest results will be announced on February 25, the British Council’s Yerevan Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

In addition, on February 17, Armenian schoolchildren will test their knowledge of Charles Dickens’ works. Also, open classes on Dickens will be held in Armenia’s schools throughout the year. And together with the Tumo Center, films based on Dickens’ works will be screened between February 27 and March 1.
