The speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, has descended to the level of personal insults directed at the well-known Russian TV presenter, journalist, and propagandist Vladimir Solovyov.

Last week, Solovyov stood out for his rather harsh statements, which caused a diplomatic note.

While speaking with reporters, Simonyan was asked about the fact that certain circles in Armenia have attempted to present Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s remarks in support of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project as support for the Armenian authorities.

In response, Simonyan stated that everyone supports the project, except for the Armenian opposition and Russian propagandists. Even the Russian authorities are positive, or do not publicly speak in a negative tone.

"If their format is good, when I informally said ‘on a stick,’ and then high-ranking officials start to justify themselves, I don't know if it's their working style, but as I said at the time, those answers are and will be," Simonyan stated, promising to convey his opinion to his Russian colleagues if necessary.

Such an opportunity will come soon, the speaker of the Armenian parliament said, adding that he has received an invitation from the speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matvienko, to travel to Moscow on a return visit.
