Today, January 27, snipers were deployed in Yerablur Military Pantheon of Yerevan to safeguard the safety of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

NEWS.am publicizes exclusive footage of these snipers going and deploying in high positions.

As reported earlier, Nikol Pashinyan visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon a while ago. Pashinyan, surrounded by a large number of security officers, laid flowers at Yerablur. Prior to his arrival at Yerablur, a large number of police guards had arrived there since early morning.

Last week, the National Assembly (NA) passed a law which established January 27 as memorial day in Armenia for those who died defending the homeland.

Today is a non-working day in Armenia.

The authors of this initiative were ruling majority faction MP and deputy speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Ruben Rubinyan, and lawmaker Gegham Nazaryan, who has left the opposition "Armenia" Faction of the NA.

Rubinyan had noted in this regard that on that day they will honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the homeland during military operations of various years.

And regarding the selection of this day, he had said that it was necessary to choose a day that is not the day of any specific military event for Armenia.

“We chose January 27 as the day before [the Armenian] Army Day because traditionally on January 28, officials visit Yerablur [Military Pantheon in Yerevan],” Rubinyan had said.
