PreferredI don’t know what TRIPP is completely. Armenia’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan, told this to reporters today in the courtyard of the Anti-Corruption Court—and regarding the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
“I didn’t understand anything. I understood that the Azerbaijanis call it a ‘corridor,’ the Turks call it a ‘corridor,’ a part of Armenia’s society calls it a ‘corridor,’ whereas the [Armenian] authorities consider it a ‘security guarantee’ or a ‘guarantor,’ or a ‘crossroads,’ or other invented things. But, as is known, what they say will change in a week, in a month, in two months, it will be completely the opposite. We cannot move on what they say,” added Sargsyan.
When asked whether he sees risks in the TRIPP project, Armenia’s third president replied: “When we see the document, then I will say whether I see risks or not.”
"They didn't even let the Armenian army be a guarantor of peace. What guarantor of peace can that document be? Economic relations, any economic activity can contribute to peace, but it cannot be a guarantee of peace. Only those structures that have a great ability to influence it can be a guarantee of peace," added ex-president Serzh Sargsyan.
