YEREVAN. – Although Armenia is in the zone of high seismic activity, where destructive quakes may occur at any moment, population is mainly unaware of what to do under such circumstances. 

To fill the gap, Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations will submit a program to the government on Thursday. The program supposes events to be held in hospitals, schools and state institutions to raise awareness among population.

The experience shows that the states where awareness measures were not taken in time, faced more severe consequences. Meanwhile, Armenia’s population is not ready to resist a strong quake.

The program provides for AMD 40 million to be spent in 3 years.
