A delegation led by the Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, is in Armenia at the invitation of Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

Within the framework of the visit, an official meeting of the ministers of the two countries took place Friday at the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, the ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In connection with the Armenia-Georgia bilateral agenda, the parties discussed a number of priorities aimed at expanding cooperation, and emphasizing the strategic importance of economic ties and the commitment to mutually beneficial development.

“I am convinced that the existing potential of our economic cooperation has not yet been fully realized, and today's meeting is an important opportunity to combine our efforts for the benefit of our peoples,” Gevorg Papoyan noted.

The avenues for deepening of trade and economic relations, unhindered transit of cargo, as well as the development of the tourism sector were discussed.

Also, both parties emphasized the importance of intensifying direct contacts between business circles of Armenia and Georgia; in particular, promoting meetings in the B2B format.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation, and stressed the importance of continued dialogue between the two countries.
