Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has declared an “open war” against the Taliban government in Afghanistan. He wrote about this on X.

According to him, it was expected that after the withdrawal of NATO troops, peace would reign in Afghanistan, and that the Taliban would focus on the interests of their people and establishing peace in the region. He said the representatives of the movement, however, turned Afghanistan into a colony of India, gathered terrorists from different parts of the world in Afghanistan and began to export terrorism.

They deprived their people of basic human rights. They took away women's rights, which were guaranteed by Islam. Pakistan made every effort to maintain a normal situation, both directly and through friendly countries. But the Taliban have become puppets of India, the Pakistani defense minister added.

Earlier, Pakistan carried out airstrikes in the Afghan cities of Kabul and Kandahar, as well as targets in Paktia province.

Tensions between the two countries began after Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan territory on February 21-22. Pakistan has named the camps of the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan group as its targets, which is accused of terrorist attacks in Pakistan’s Islamabad and several other cities. The Afghan side, however, claims that civilian objects were targeted.
