The International Organization for Migration has presented its report entitled “Assessment of Labor Migration and Trafficking in the Republic of Armenia.”

This report is based on a survey of 521 migrant workers in Armenia and interviews with employers, Armenian government agencies, civil society organizations, intermediaries, and other stakeholders conducted from December 2024 to February 2025.

Some of the main findings of this report are as follows:

Eighty percent of respondents assess their treatment positively in Armenia.

The majority of respondents have legal status in Armenia, but approximately 40 percent of them work without a written contract or work permit.

Almost 1 in 6 migrant workers who used a labor agency reported exploitation or broken promises.

The majority are aware of workplace safety rules in Armenia, but 43 percent of them still lack sufficient knowledge of relevant procedures.
