Iran is not attempting to negotiate with the US because it does not trust the administration — they committed a betrayal, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said in an interview with France24.

Asked by a journalist whether Iranian authorities are trying to talk with Washington, the official answered in the negative.

"No, we do not trust the Americans. They betrayed not only us, but diplomacy itself. We were in the process of negotiations when they attacked us. We did not start this aggressive war," Takht-Ravanchi stated.
