Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Ankara is ready to again serve as a venue for peace negotiations on the conflict in Ukraine.

According to him, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine remains a key issue on the international agenda. Fidan stressed the importance of continuing the negotiating process, noting that during previous meetings the parties managed to achieve notable progress and move closer to a possible peace agreement.

"It is necessary for negotiations to continue without interruption. Turkey intends to continue engaging with all interested parties for the sake of achieving peace through diplomatic means," he said at a press conference following a meeting with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.

The Turkish foreign minister also emphasized that Ankara is ready to host the next round of negotiations.
