YEREVAN. – The ID is not valid for voting in Armenia. The Government approved on Thursday several amendments on Election Code, Law on IDs and Passports, regulating validity of a person’s identity in polling stations.
As it is not possible to stamp on the ID, it cannot be valid for voting. Thus, only the passport is valid for voting in Armenia.
The current amendments will refer to next elections as the upcoming parliamentary ones are scheduled in May, while the IDs will be put into circulation in June.
