YEREVAN. – As of Thursday 9.00 p.m. some interstate highways, local roads, and mountain passes are closed in Armenia.
There is ice in some parts of the roads, Armenian Ministry of Emergency informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Selim Mountain Pass, Upper Getashen-Madina and the Berd-Chambarak Highway are closed. Snow removal, salting, and sanding are continuing.
According to the information which the Ministry of Emergency Situations has received from Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department, as of Thursday, 7.00 p.m., travel at Georgia’s Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is prohibited for trailers, semi-trailers, and buses seating more than thirty passengers. Traffic is solely permitted for other vehicles with chained wheels, and for four-wheel drive automobiles.
