YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Ambassador to Argentina, Vladimir Karmirshalyan, met on Thursday with the Mayor of Buenos Aires, Mauricio Macri.

During the meeting, the Ambassador presented to the Mayor the Armenian side’s official invitation to the celebration events to be held in the capital Yerevan on April 22-23, and in connection with the 500th anniversary of Armenian printed books and Yerevan’s declaration by UNESCO as the 2012 Book Capital of the World.       

Mayor of the Argentinean capital delightfully accepted the invitation and noted that the Buenos Aires delegation’s visit to Yerevan will be an important impetus for strengthening the cooperation ties between the two sister cities, MFA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

And considering the fact that Buenos Aires is the Book Capital of the World until April 21, 2012, Ambassador Karmirshalyan and Mayor Macri underscored that the passing of this title from one city to the other will be carried out ceremoniously.
