Intense fighting between Afghan and Pakistani forces resumed on Thursday evening along the “Durand Line”—the Afghanistan-Pakistan border which is not recognized by Kabul—and continued on Friday morning, according to the Seda-e Afghan Telegram channel.

“In response to artillery fire by Pakistani forces, forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked their positions along the Durand Line from the provinces of Khost and Paktia,” the message said.

According to the aforesaid Telegram channel, at least three Pakistani soldiers were killed and several Pakistani checkpoints were destroyed.

Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesman for the Taliban, said that Pakistani forces launched intensive mortar and missile attacks on the Afghan provinces of Kunar, Paktika, and Khost on Thursday evening. Drones were also used in attacks on civilian targets in Afghanistan.

“As a result, two civilians were killed and 25 were wounded, most of them children,” Fitrat said, reports the Alemarah news portal.
