Video footage has emerged showing U.S. President Donald Trump mocking British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, claiming that Starmer said he would need to consult his team before deciding to deploy British aircraft carriers to the Middle East, The Guardian reports.

The U.S. president said that the UK “should be our best” ally, but is not acting as such during the war with Iran.

During his remarks, Trump said:
“They were supposed to be the best of the best, and they weren’t. I said, ‘You’ve got two old, falling-apart aircraft carriers, could you send them to us?’”

“Oh, I have to ask my team.”

“I said, ‘You’re the prime minister, you don’t need to.’”

“No, no, no, I have to ask my team. We meet next week.”

“But the war has already started. Next week the war will be over… in three days.”

These statements were made during a closed-door lunch. The White House posted them on social media but later deleted them.

During the lunch, Trump also mocked Emmanuel Macron, claiming that the French president “is still recovering from a punch in the jaw” and that Macron’s wife “treats him very badly.”
