The cost of the ongoing US operation against Iran has exceeded $42 billion so far, according to the Iran War Cost Tracker portal.
Thirty-six days have passed since the start of the conflict.
The aforesaid source updates in real time unofficial data on US spending on military operations against the Islamic Republic.
The calculations are based on a Pentagon report to Congress, which states that the first six days of this military campaign cost $11.3 billion, and future costs may reach $1 billion per day.
However, the Iran War Cost Tracker itself notes that some analysts believe that the amount shown by the tracker may be significantly underestimated.
Earlier, Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf had stated that US policy in the Middle East will lead to disastrous consequences. He had said that Washington's actions would "burn the region to the ground" and create a "living hell" for every family.
