U.S. President Donald Trump admitted that weapons had been sent to fuel internal clashes.
“We sent some weapons — they were supposed to reach the Iranian people. You know what happened? The people we sent them through kept them for themselves. I am very unhappy with a certain group of people, and they will pay a high price for it. The Iranian people will fight back as soon as they get weapons. If they had weapons, Iran would surrender in two seconds,” he said.
“When the Iranian people don’t hear the sounds of bombs, they get upset — they want to hear the sounds of bombs,” the U.S. president added in a controversial remark.
