“Donald Trump has gone insane, and his threats to destroy the Iranian people should be taken seriously,” Congressman Robert Garcia wrote on social media platform X.
“He is out of control, and his cabinet and those around him must remain loyal to the Constitution and invoke the 25th Amendment. He must be removed,” Garcia added.
Meanwhile, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer called the U.S. president “a deeply unwell man.”
“Every Republican who refuses to join us in voting against this senseless war of choice will bear responsibility for all the consequences, whatever the hell they may be,” Schumer wrote.
Strong criticism was also voiced by former Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene, who described Trump’s post about the “death of an entire civilization” as “evil and insanity.”
“25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has fallen on America. We cannot destroy an entire civilization. This is evil and insanity,” she wrote on X.
U.S. politicians were alarmed by the president’s post on Truth Social, in which, speaking about Iran, he suggested the possibility of “the death of an entire civilization.”
