The first round of talks between the US and Iran on a settlement agreement is scheduled for Friday in the Pakistani capital Islamabad. Barak Ravid, a political reporter and Middle East expert for Axios, reported this on X, citing sources.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran and agreed to stop the bombing. According to him, this decision was made following talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and chief of Pakistani Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
