The United States is beginning the process of clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump announced.
"We are now beginning the process of clearing the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to countries all over the world, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, and many others," he wrote on Saturday on Truth Social.
Trump added that it is "amazing that they don't have the courage or the will to do this work themselves," and noted: "Very interesting, however, that empty oil tankers from many countries are heading to the US to load up with oil."
He also stated that 28 minelayers deployed by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz "are at the bottom of the sea."
