Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sent his routine April 24 message, consistent in content since 2012, to the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople and the Armenian community of Turkey.

As reported by the Istanbul-based Armenian newspaper "Agos," the Turkish President's message was read during a liturgy served for the martyrs of April 24 at the Holy Jacob (Surb Hakob) Armenian Church in Istanbul.

In his message, Erdogan noted that he once again offers his condolences to the grandchildren of the Armenians who died under the difficult conditions of World War I. He stated that during the years of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, all Ottoman peoples endured great suffering, emphasizing that Ottoman Armenian citizens also experienced great pain during that time.
