YEREVAN. – Different NGOs preserving the rights of Armenia’s 164,368 disabled voters report that the voting rights of disabled people might be violated due to several reasons during the upcoming elections, Heritage member, MP Anahit Bakhshyan announced in the Armenian parliament on Tuesday.
As she mentioned, 85 per cent of voting districts are not accessible for people with disabilities. The voting districts are mainly located in schools, the stairs of which are not prepared for wheelchairs. Also, those who have sight and hearing problems, have troubles while voting.
