YEREVAN.- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will make investments in Armenia instead of sitting and waiting for something, Olivier Descamps said.

In the course of his visit to Armenia, Managing Director for Turkey, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Olivier Descamps met with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Ministers of Finance, Economy and Energy as well as chairman of the Central Bank.

The sides discussed Armenia’s priorities and EBRD’s role in supporting the country in the context of new 2012-2015 program for Armenia.

Bank’s representatives did not clarify the volume of investments, stressing that new strategy will take into account three preceding directions in banking sector, support for business, including agriculture and metallurgy, as well as development of municipal infrastructure.
