They will open, we will understand. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told this reporters Tuesday, commenting on the phrase he had said to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that "the Turks are opening."
Mirzoyan assured that the matter is not about reopening the border between Armenia and Turkey or granting citizens of third countries the right to cross the border.
"That [i.e. reopening the border] also will happen one day, of course, I'm sure. But this time it's about something a little different. As soon as the time comes to reveal [it], I'll say [it]. It's about good things. From now on, it will always be about good things only," Mirzoyan noted.
He added that it's no secret that Armenia and the Armenian people have European ambitions, and the fact that the Armenian citizens will make the decision on this matter is unequivocal.
"Any decision regarding the future of Armenia will be made by the RA [i.e. the Republic of Armenia] citizens of Armenia. Everything that is subject to a referendum will be decided in a referendum. Our legislation regulates everything. If it’s written in the law that something should be decided through a referendum, then it will be decided by a referendum. And if it’s not written, then we will decide how," the Armenian FM concluded.
