YEREVAN. – A “protest” was held Monday in front of the Italian Embassy in Armenia, and against the Azzurri’s defeat of the Armenian national football team.

The “demonstrators” raised their voices in protest noting that Italy’s win was an immoral victory and stated that they will neither forgive nor tolerate this. “You are forgetting as to who was the first to adopt Christianity and to play football in the world. We demand an immediate apology and a pledge to always lose to strong Armenia from now on. Otherwise, Armenia will break off diplomatic ties with Italy, and, as proof, we will burn the flag of Italy,” the event organizer, namely, the National Service for Moral Victories, informs.

To note, however, this “demonstration” was a mere joke protest.

To remind, the Armenian and Italian national football squads faced each other in the 2014 World Cup Brazil qualifying Group B match, which was played at Armenian capital city Yerevan on October 12 and the Azzurri defeated the hosts by a score of 3-1.
