YEREVAN.- The lives of Armenian servicemen, who were injured as a result of the military truck accident, are not in danger, doctor of a military hospital told reporters on Friday.

They were transferred to Yerevan from Vardenis city hospital in three stages, Arman Hakobyan said.

“They have various graveness injuries. They all have traumatic brain injuries but, fortunately, their lives are not in danger,” he added. The servicemen will stay in hospital at least for a week.  

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, an Ural-model truck, which was transporting military servicemen, crashed in Karvachar, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), in the early morning hours of Friday. As a result, some of the servicemen died, whereas others sustained injuries. Specifically, the truck’s driver, Artur Yeremyan, and conscripts Manvel Apijanyan, Sanasar Piloyan, and Gagik Vardanyan lost their lives. 

Fifteen injured servicemen are at the Vardenis city hospital, and they are primarily in average critical condition. The names of the injured are as follows: Karen Avetisyan, Gevorg Gevorgyan, Varazdat Yeghiazaryan, Artur Yeghiazaryan, Sargis Zakaryan, Arman Muradyan, Manuk Khachatryan, Edik Khachatryan, Ashot Mnatsakanyan, Babken Taloyan, Mkhitar Yeremyan, Sanasar Gomtsyan, Davit Harutyunyan, Karen Hovhannisyan, Armenak Sahakyan.

NKR Defense Army news department informed that six of them will be transferred to Armenian MOD Central Clinical Military Hospital in Yerevan. 

Also, the MOD Investigation Department launched a criminal case, on charges of violating the rules of driving or operating machinery and causing death, with respect to the military truck accident
