YEREVAN. – Opening session of the operational headquarters, which will coordinate police activities during the forthcoming presidential elections in Armenia, was convened recently. Police Chief, Police Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan, chaired the event.     

First, he reflected on several urgent matters that have a negative impact on the fight against crime and the maintenance of public order, Police press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

Speaking on the functions of the aforesaid operational headquarters, Vladimir Gasparyan recalled that the presidential elections have their peculiarities and the headquarters should consider these realities when organizing its activities, and that the priority should be its mission of upholding the requirements of the law and the interests of the citizenry.
