YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Chairman—and presidential contender—Raffi Hovannisian on Wednesday decided to be remembered in a unique way during the campaign season for the forthcoming presidential election. He went to a capital city Yerevan hair salon to have a haircut.
To the news reporters’ query as to why he chose such campaign action, Hovannisian specifically responded as follows:
“This is my personal approach to the election campaign and to each and every citizen. Any election program will remain on paper if each and every citizen of Armenia does not perceive himself as a part of his country. I am not urging people to vote for me; I am urging [them] to go and vote on election day.”
Also, Raffi Hovannisian noted that he is not speaking about his election program during the campaign season, as his activists are carrying this out, and, instead, he prefers to simply talk with the people.
